Beginning August 5-8, 2009

It was quite lovely to sit in a wood paneled room at Sleeping Lady Retreat Center outside Leavenworth at six am each day. Empty belly, happy dog trotting at my side. She knew the way to Quail. Upon entering I slipped off our shoes and silently found our mat. Once fed, Mirage is quite content to settle into 'meditation' (a P work)turning inward.
The soft sound of a singing bowl, the quiver and rustle of dewy aspen trees and the draped bodies of my sitting kula drew me in.
I remembered a line from Eat, Love and Pray about a mantra, "Ham Sa", I am that too.
(Like Lokaha Samasta Sukino Bahvantu: May All beings everywhere be happy and free. May we All BE One.
This experience was deeply satisfying though I could not explain the attraction. Discipline? A sense of belonging?
